Horseback riding at Rafting Camp Eden takes you deep into the forest that blankets the canyon walls above the Tara River. The trails pass through century-old pine woodland, across open mountain meadows carpeted with wildflowers and along ridges from which the canyon drops away dramatically towards the river far below.

Our horses are calm, well-trained and accustomed to mixed-experience groups. Whether you're mounting for the first time or are a confident rider wanting to explore at a canter, our guides match you to the right horse and set a pace that suits the whole group.

Rides can be tailored in length and difficulty - from a one-hour introductory session for complete beginners to a three-hour mountain trail ride for experienced riders. Contact us to discuss the right option for your group.

When is the best time to ride?

Horseback riding is available from May to October. Morning rides are especially recommended in summer - the forest stays cool and the light through the pine canopy is extraordinary. Evening rides in autumn, when the forest turns amber and the air smells of pine resin, are among the most popular with our returning guests.
